Arthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints, often accompanied by pain, swelling, redness, and warmth. It can be triggered by infections, metabolic disorders (such as gout), rheumatic diseases, or as an inflammatory flare of osteoarthritis (activated osteoarthritis).
