About FindMyDoc

How FindMyDoc works

How the classification works, where the information comes from and what FindMyDoc deliberately does not do.

What FindMyDoc is

FindMyDoc is a non-commercial orientation platform for the Swiss healthcare system. It helps you find the relevant specialty, prepare for your doctor's appointment and call suitable practices directly.

FindMyDoc does not make diagnoses, does not assess how urgent a concern is and does not arrange appointments. There is no advertising, no paid placement and no sale of data. The platform is operated by RC REPRESENT CONSULTING GmbH, Hinterkappelen.

How the classification works

First, FindMyDoc checks your description for warning words that may indicate an emergency — in all 13 languages of the website. If the check is triggered, a notice pointing to the emergency number 144 appears.

An AI model hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland then assigns the description to one of 13 specialties and asks follow-up questions where needed. If the service is unavailable, a rule-based evaluation on our own server takes over.

The classification is an automated orientation aid. It can be wrong and does not replace a medical assessment.

Preparation questions and report

The questions asked after the recommendation help you prepare for the appointment. Your answers and the report stay in your browser; the report reproduces your own information unchanged.

Where the practice data comes from

The directory is based on OpenStreetMap, the practices' websites and public appointment information on OneDoc. A nightly update reads these public sources. We determine a practice's canton from its coordinates and the official cantonal boundaries published by swisstopo.

The lists show practices with a phone number or website. Information may be incomplete or out of date; only the practice itself can tell you reliably whether it accepts new patients.

How the content is created

The guide, treatments and glossary are editorial content — based on recognised Swiss specialist sources, including the Federal Office of Public Health, the Federal Commission for Vaccination Issues, medical societies and university hospitals. Every page states when it was last updated.

Medicine pages show the official patient information for medicines authorised in Switzerland and the reimbursement status from the Federal Office of Public Health's list of pharmaceutical specialties.

The “In plain words” summary is generated automatically from the German leaflet, using an AI model at Infomaniak in Switzerland, and translated into the other languages of the website. It contains no dosage and no assessment. Before publication it is checked automatically against the leaflet — for example, whether every number appears there — but it is not reviewed by a doctor. The full leaflet remains authoritative.

Limits

FindMyDoc does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. In an emergency, call 144.
