Polyp

Polyp

A polyp is a benign growth of the mucous membrane that protrudes into a hollow organ in a mushroom or button shape. Polyps are found, for example, in the bowel, in the nose or in the uterus. Some bowel polyps can develop into cancer over time and are therefore removed.
