Prosthesis
A prosthesis is an artificial replacement for a missing or non-functioning part of the body, such as a leg, a row of teeth or a hip joint. It is intended to restore the lost function or appearance as well as possible. A distinction is made between joint, dental and limb prostheses, among others.
